Sunday evening, Oct 4, 2009 there was a dual covenanting service in Communities in Faith Pastoral Charge. Both Rev. Liz Bowyer and Rev. Keith Simmonds entered into a covenant with CIF and Kootenay Presbytery for Ministry in CIF. The service held at Trail United Church was full of people and music. Rev. David Boyd presided on behalf of Presbytery and the sermon was delivered by Rev. Dr. Therese DesCamp. The service was followed by a supper.
March 27-29, 2009 was the Spring meeting of Kootenay Presbytery at Castlegar United Church.
The focal issue of this meeting was a proposal on a new approach to church camping. The proposal was defeated by a narrow margin after lenghty discussions.
