Our theme presenter…

The Very Reverend The Honourable Lois M. Wilson, was nurtured in the Student Christian Movement (1940's) with Ted Scott as staff (he was later the Primate of the Anglican Church in Canada). This was an ecumenical movement informed by international partners. She served as a Minister of the United Church of Canada and as its Moderator (1980-82); as President of the Canadian Council of Churches from 1976-79 and the World Council of Churches (1983-1991). Lois Wilson was appointed as an Independent Senator (1998-2002) and was Canada's special envoy to the Sudan, was involved in Canada establishing diplomatic relations with North Korea, and headed a government delegation on religious freedom in China. She was appointed by the Canadian Government to the Panel reviewing the disposal of Nuclear Waste in Canada and served on the Refugee Status Advisory Board.

On a personal note, Lois is an avid canoeist. She is the Widow of Rev Dr. Roy Wilson with whom she shared team ministry for some years. She has four children, 12 grandchildren & one great grandchild.

Welcoming Back Our Musician…

Lindsay Lundquist was born and raised in Enderby and has been involved with music as long as she can remember. "My mom says: “I could sing in French before I could ever talk!"

Lindsay studied piano, and later voice, as well as singing in local churches, schools and at other public functions. After one year of university, she began teaching piano and voice, and singing in bands and duos. In 1988 she began working for Maz and Me's Revue Theatre Restaurant in Vernon, first as accompanist, then on stage. Lindsay moved to Vancouver when Maz opened a dinner theatre there, and performed with Maz for 11 years.

Lindsay returned to the Okanagan in 2000 after her husband passed away while she was pregnant with their second child. She became the choir director at Saint Andrew's United Church, then added pianist to her duties, and then secretary as well. She teaches voice and piano and also works at Cliffview Recording Studio. She has written a number of songs, including the theme song for the 1991 B.C. Summer Games in Coquitlam, the theme song for the 1997 B.C. Special Olympics, and most recently won a song-writing contest for the Shuswap Singers choir in honour of their 50th anniversary.

Lindsay's other passion is writing/ producing/directing/participating in original dinner theatres as fundraisers for MacKenzie Camp. She has a play on the first weekend of May every year at Saint Andrew's U.C. in Enderby!
